Release notes December 2020

In December, the work on the licence shop solution has been completed and licence shop released for use. The first version of banners management has also been released, allowing Federation managing banners on basic pages in desktop and mobile views. The work on UI improvements for mobiles will continue in 2021 aiming at improving the mobile interfaces for the show page, registration form and shopping basket.

LICENCE SHOP

The vision of this feature is to allow riders and horse owners to pay all competition-related fees from KIPA. The licence shop in KIPA communicates in real time with the clubs register and offers the possible licences to purchase using the data on athlete membership status, membership type, and already purchased licences. A special solution for clubs that would like to manage their members´ licences was launched, allowing club administrators to order licences for their clubs´ athletes and to pay for licences themselves or to put the licence invoice to person´s shopping basket for payment by an athlete.

The following licences and services are available for purchase:

1. Licences for athletes:

  • Seasonal licences, i.e. seura, alue, kansalinen A, kansalinen B etc
  • Upgrades for seasonal licences, i.e. upgrade from kansalinen A to international KVA and from kansalinen B to international KVB
  •  Seasonal international licences purchase as a bundle, i.e. kansalinen A + FEI licence
  • Temporary licences for 7 days, C-licence for people with alue licence to compete at national level, licence for athletes with national A or B licences to compete at international level
  • FEI licences: can be purchased as a bundle with national licences or as separate product

2. Licences and services for horses:

  • Annual licence
  • For visiting horses (not registered in Hippos), temporary licence for 14 days can also been purchased from KIPA licence shop
  • FEI licence, can be purchased as a bundle together with annual licence
  • Applications for horses, i.e. pony measurements, FEI services applications, such as passports and passports´ renewals.

Licence shop can be used by visitors as well as logged in users. For logged in users, there are also functions to purchase the licences from their own or their horses´ profiles.

Administrative features and data exchange services

In relation to the licence shop functionality the following platform administrators functions and data exchange services launched:

  • Data sync from club memberships register on person´s membership status, type, club memberships history upon requesting the list of licences available for purchase. If person account is not existing in KIPA, an account will be created upon data sync with club register.
  • Data sync from club membership register on person´s annual membership fee payment status, when person is going to register first time to a show or clinics. This check will be activated if administrator switches on the check for the match of the paid licence with club membership payment status for the concrete licence category.
  • Possibility for administrator to define products to be sold in shop in relation to person, to configure the eligibility rules (i.e. whether membership is active, seasonal licence of certain category requested etc), add descriptions and prices for products.
  • Possibility for administrators to see and manage the person´s applications (used for FEI licences) and see and manage horse´s applications (used for pony measurements, FEI licences and other FEI services)
  • Possibility for administrators to issue / activate / deactivate person land horse´s licences
  • Special feature in organisation´s management to mark organisation (club) as being responsible for managing club members´ licences. In this case the club administrators will need to purchase licences for club members or to put licences to persons shopping baskets for payment. The club can be marked as managing itself the members´ licences from the organisation edit form.
  • Showing licences history on person´s profile, including licence type, validity and other data.
  • Solution allowing multiple licences to be valid at the same time and introducing licences ranks. This is an internal function, increasing the system flexibility and given additional possibilities for temporary upgrades of licences.
  • Internally, a full solution for storing the membership data has been implemented, incl membership in several clubs and data on what club the person is representing in sport. This data is not yet exposed to interfaces and this feature can be added if requested.

Other developments

Show management

1. Show organisers can restrict the number of entries allowed per class.

Add the maximum number of entries allowed from add/edit class form under the General settings:

When restriction is added, the riders will see the max number and the number of already registered people from the Schedule view and also in registration form:

2. Sections open for registration are now shown for organisers and other users in Schedule - Classes in"Open for sections":

3. In Add/edit class, selection of class level (i.e. seura, alue, kasnalinen) has been improved, allowing selecting only those levels that are defined under the Show levels. For example, if the show is published to calendar as Seura, it is not possible to add Alue classes under it.

Features for administrators

4. Possibility for Federation to define "Strict sections" - an option for Federation has been added to define so called strict sections, that would allow entering based on pony measurements submitted to the system. For example, section will be open only for Iso ponni or Pieni poni. This feature is not in use, but if needed can be used in certain disciplines and for specific difficulty levels.

5. Possibility for Federation to add and manage banners that are shown on Landing page, in Calendar and in Shop in desktop view. More options will be added, incl banners for mobile views as well as Federation banners that can be shown on event profile page.

UI

6. Based on the discussions with users, the Calendar time filter default has been set to day today and events in the future. A possibility to see the past two week events were added as custom option.
